Developing an Effective FQHC Governing Board Training

Developing and Maintaining an Effective Community Health Center Governing Board: Rules, Roles, and Responsibilities Training

Is your Community Health Center (CHC) Board as effective as you want it to be? Do you have CHC Board Members who need training on their specific roles and responsibilities? If so, this online training is for you and your Board Members. Bobbie Maniece- Harrison, a CHC Board Member for more than 25 years, will share Board Member insights, roles and the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) Governance Program Expectations. Ms. Maniece-Harrison will also cover topics such as governing board structure, recruitment and retention of CHC Board Members, a code of ethics for Board Members, and common recurring issues CHC Boards must face.

CPCA welcomes both CHC staff and Board Members to this online session that will take place on Wednesday, May 14, from 1:00pm - 2:30 pm. The training will also go in depth on tools, strategies, and ideas on developing an effective Community Health Center Board.

REGISTRATION

The registration deadline for this training is Friday, May 9, 2008.

Approximately two business days prior to the training, participants will receive an email with relevant training materials. This email will also include the information necessary to join the online web training. The access information will be different for each session and you will need to register for each to receive all the information.

FEES:

$75 Per Online Connection for a CPCA Member* (if the participant is a Board Member of a Community Health Center, they can register for the member price)

$90 Per Online Connection for a non-CPCA member clinic or health center*

$105 Per Online Connection for a non-CPCA member - other*

*These fees allow the clinic/organization to arrange for multiple participants to share one telephone line and internet connection. Additional registration fees apply for each additional line/connection used.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

To receive a full refund of your registration fee, CPCA must receive your written cancellation notice one week prior to the start of the session. No refunds will be offered for cancellations after the cancellation date (May 7, 2008). No shows are responsible for payment of registration fees and are not eligible for a refund.

CLINIC LICENSING WEB TRAINING SERIES

The California Primary Care Association (CPCA) is pleased to present a series of two web trainings on clinic licensing. This series was developed based on needs identified by CPCA members. Full descriptions of both sessions are below.

SESSION 1: LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION PROCESS 101
When: Tuesday, May 6, 2008 / 11:30am - 1:00pm
This session is designed for clinic staff who have limited experience with the licensing and certification process. Starting with an overview of the process, topics covered will include: using the application checklist; where to find application forms; timelines, required documentation; Central Applications Unit vs. District Office Responsibilities, provider enrollment and other issues.

SESSION 2: AFFILIATE CLINIC LICENSING, INTERMITTENT (aka SATELLITE) SITES AND RELOCATION OF EXISTING CLINICS
When: Tuesday, May 20, 2008 / 11:30am - 1:00pm
Specific licensing and certification regulations and policy apply to these situations. Clinic staff will learn the difference between affiliate clinics and intermittent sites, understand which billing options apply to which situations, and be introduced to the Relocation Checklist. In addition, presenters will discuss tips for working with your District Office to plan for relocation.

Registrations may be transferred to another individual by written request up to the day of the event.

No shows are responsible for payment of registration fees and are not eligible for a refund.
