> Day at the Capitol
Current as of June 10, 2010 CPCA's Day at the Capitol is an annual event that allows physicians, clinicians, directors, and patients to engage in dialogue with legislators and legislative staff about budget and legislative priorities impacting CCHCs. Day at the Capitol is critical to CPCA as a forum in which the voice of CCHCs can unite and be heard. Following a breakfast briefing to “kick off” the day, participants then attend legislative visits with their respective representatives to emphasize the importance of clinics in the current year's budget and legislative session, and to express the vital need for administrative streamlining. In 2010, CPCA invited Senator Densie Ducheny and Assemblymember Bill Monning as the keynote speakers for the lunchtime portion of the event. Senator Ducheny was chosen for CPCA's 2010 Clinic Champion award. In the evening, CPCA hosted a reception for its members and legislators.
