Policy and Advocacy
Current as of July 26, 2010
OVERVIEW
CPCA works diligently to stay on top of legislation and policy changes impacting clinics and the patients they serve. While incorporating member input to advocate for policies and measures that support the goals of its membership, CPCA sets the course for shaping future policy at all levels and at each stage of development. To enable successful legislative outcomes, CPCA disseminates information and timely policy analyses to its members to keep them informed of monitored legislation. Through weekly Information Updates and Action Alerts, member advocacy is promoted and calls to action are facilitated.
CPCA sets an aggressive advocacy program to ensure and sustain state and federal funding for clinics and equal access to quality health care for all individuals, including special needs populations such as migrant and seasonal farm workers and homeless populations. Whether urban or rural, full serviced or specialized, CPCA represents its member clinics at both the state and federal levels of government on issues that affect the health care safety net.
