California’s Bridge to Health Care Reform- An overview and update about the Low Income Health Program - January 26, 2012
This is a special training geared toward CPCA’s Health Care Ambassadors, and will help them understand what California is doing to ensure that counties have the tools and capabilities to ensure a smooth transition into the provisions of the Affordable Care Act.
This session will provide an overview of the Low Income Health Program, and California’s goal to ensure the LIHP is the bridge to health care reform. This program has been in the planning and implementation stages since early 2011 but by the beginning of 2012 most, if not all, counties that have chosen to participate will have launched their programs. Participants will learn about the program generally, the goals, the challenges, and where to find more information related to their unique county LIHP.
This session is scheduled for 1 1/2 hours.
