Suicide rates are sky-high and we can help prevent suicide if we can better identify patients at risk. These nationwide suicide prevention trainings for primary care providers are helping providers confidently identify, screen, and care for patients at risk for suicide.

This Live activity, Suicide Safer Care, with a beginning date of 5/8/2019 has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 1.00 credit by the American Academy of Family Physician. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CMEs are offered by CUNY - Center for Innovation for Mental Health. In order to claim CMEs, registrant must complete a pre- and post-survey, in addition to attending the full webinar. 


LEARNING OBJECTIVES
During the course of this webinar attendees will:
  • Learn how to effectively and accurately identify and screen patients at risk for suicide;
  • Learn how to build and implement an applicable safety plan; and,
  • Learn the warning signs to identify patients who are at risk, and how to intervene.
