CPCA's PCHH Webinar Series Description
CPCA offers technical assistance, training, and practice transformation coaching through our Patient-Centered Health Home initiative to offer member clinics a wide variety of training opportunities to meet their exact needs. The purpose of the initiative is to create an integrated strategy to support health centers to achieve patient-centered health home recognition, improve health outcomes, and position CHCs for ongoing participation in primary care delivery under health reform. Join us for the next PCHH webinar series to learn more about the NCQA PCMH 2017 Standards, sustaining and spreading PCMH across multiple sites, and integrating quality improvement throughout the organization.

WEBINAR No. 2: Using Non-Billable Staff in Care Teams for Quality Outcomes
Non-traditional support staff are critical additions to a health centers care team that, when thoughtfully developed and implemented, can add several efficiencies to workflows and improve patient care. With increasing pressure to improve clinical measures to achieve desired quality outcomes, non-billable staff in the care team have more responsibilities to care for patients outside of the traditional face-to-face visit. In this 60-minute webinar, we will explore different care team formations to utilize non-billable staff to work at the top of their skill and licensure to provide effective team-based care. There will be special attention on workflows around pre-visit planning and standing orders in a care team.

This webinar will center on NCQA 2017 PCMH Standards, specifically the Team-Based Care and Practice Organization (TC) concept. This concept measures how practices provide continuity of care, communicate roles and responsibilities of the medical home to patients/families/caregivers, and organizes and trains staff to work to the top of their license and provide effective team-based care.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Understand the intent and measurement criteria of the Team-Based Care and Practice Organization concepts within the NCQA 2017 Standards;
  • Learn how health centers are utilizing non-traditional, non-billable care team members to improve back office workflows using standardized standing orders and pre-visit planning;
  • Increase knowledge of different care team formations and other ways of using non-billable staff; and
  • How to engage health center staff in various ways to improve quality outcomes.
