Shortage Designation Modernization Project

This live event occurred on 06/27/2018; to receive a copy of the recording via email, please continue registering below.

HRSA's Shortage Designation Modernization Project is an ongoing effort to modernize the shortage designation process with automated procedures and standardized data sets. The goal of the initiative is to provide greater transparency, accountability, and parity to the Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designation and scoring process. The project does not change the criteria used for designating or scoring HPSAs, but does reevaluate the data sources for each criterion. All Auto-HPSAs will be included in the national update based on standardized data sets and provider data reviewed and revised by State PCOs, so join us to prepare for this national update before it goes live in Spring 2019.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Understand the purpose of the Shortage Designation Modernization Project and the proposed changes to the data sources
  • Learn how to prepare for the August 2018 impact analysis and national update in April 2019
  • Work with CPCA and OSHPD to submit data and provide feedback that will be shared with HRSA

  • Amanda Huynh, Staff Services Manager, OSHPD
  • Hovik Khosrovian, Primary Care Office Director, OSHPD
