With diabetes rates skyrocketing and recently enhanced adult Medi-Cal vision benefits to take effect in 2020, more patients will be in need of eye and vision care in the coming years. Help your health center meet this growing demand by adding optometric services. Optometry can provide a multitude of needed services for patients, such as diabetic eye exams, glaucoma treatment, and vision care, while serving as a new revenue stream.

Join us for this 60-minute webinar which will serve as a “how-to” for adding optometric services to health centers. We will cover administrative requirements, costs, staffing, billing, and workflows for optometry. Additionally, this session will cover best practices learned over the years from a health center that has successfully integrated optometry, as well as tips from an optometrist.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Better understand optometry and the services it can provide
  • Identify resources needed to add optometry to a health center
  • Obtain strategies, best practices, and tips for integrating optometric services.

  • Jan Cooper, OD, FAAO, Optometrist, JWCH Institute
