This 90-minute webinar will cover the basics of the California Immunization Registry (CAIR2) and how heath centers can utilize CAIR2 to securely input and track patient vaccinations. Content covered will include information on how to enroll in CAIR2, electronically submitting information from health center’s electronic health records (specifically eCW, NextGen) into CAIR2, and querying CAIR2 through health center EHRs. We will also discuss the requirement for CAIR2 enrollment as a prerequisite to registration for the CovidReadi program, which vaccinating providers will need to complete in order to get access to COVID-19 vaccine.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the California Immunization Registry (CAIR2), including its purpose, objectives, and requirements;
  2. Conceptualize a bidirectional interface workflow between the EHR system utilized by their health center (e.g. eCW, NextGen) and CAIR2 and develop procedures unique to their health center for entering data into/pulling data from CAIR2; and,
  3. Prepare for CAIR2 enrollment as a prerequisite for CovidReadi registration, as a vaccinating provider.
