SB 24: The Most Important DV Law You May Not Know About

DATE:  Thursday, March 30th, 2023
TIME:  11:00am-12:00pm

This webinar will focus on Senate Bill (SB) 24 (2021), which:
Authorizes a court to include a provision within a domestic violence restraining order that restrains one party from accessing records and information pertaining to the health care of a minor; and
Requires healthcare providers who treat minors to develop, no later than February 1, 2023, protocols relating to compliance with such and order.  These protocols must include specified information, which we will discuss during the presentation.  Participants will also receive a model template for P&Ps to use as a guide for creating their own protocols, as necessary.

  • Understand the background, purpose, and requirements of SB 24 (2021), including the review and analysis of template protocols designed to meet the requirements outlined in the bill.
  • Identify best practices for implementation, particularly with respect to navigating “special case” scenarios such as parents with multiple children, participation in HIE networks, and online patient portals.
