Intimate Partner Violence Best Practices for CHCs (OnDemand)
Category: Trauma Informed Care
Recorded: 11/13/2025

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a critical public health issue that deeply affects the health and well-being of patients, yet it is often underrecognized in clinical settings. In this virtual session, health center staff and leadership will learn from the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (CPEDV) about the impact of IPV on patients and how providers can play a vital role in breaking the cycle of violence. Experts from CPEDV’s Prevention & Capacity Building Team will share practical strategies for identifying warning signs, responding with appropriate care, and fostering trust and safety during patient interactions. Participants will also gain insight into best practices for communication, capacity building, and ongoing support. This session is the first in a three-part webinar series hosted by CPCA and CPEDV designed to strengthen the capacity of California’s community health centers (CHCs) to address IPV, promote patient safety, and support healthier communities.
