Health Center & Workforce Development Board Partnerships

Partnerships are key to developing innovative healthcare pipeline programs across California. The state and local Workforce Development Boards are dedicated to ensuring that jobseekers and employers have access to high quality training programs, services, and resources through policy and fiscal oversight. Given the alignment in healthcare workforce development goals, they can be your strong partners in strengthening primary care career awareness, training, and placement. This 90-minute webinar will review the role and structure of the Workforce Development Boards, how health centers can develop a strong partnership with them, and a case study of where this partnership has worked well in conjunction with the regional consortium and Area Health Education Center (AHEC).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Understand the role and structure of the state and local Workforce Development Boards;
  • Learn how to develop a community health center partnership with the local Workforce Development Board; and
  • Identify a case study of a successful partnership between community health centers, the regional consortium and AHEC, and the local Workforce Development Board

  • Monica Guardian, Workforce Development Director, AltaMed Health Services
  • Ahmad Mansur, Manager of Workforce Programs, AltaMed Health Services
