Supporting Elder Patients During A Pandemic

This live event occurred on 6/24/20; to receive a copy of the recording via email, please continue registering below. To request copies of materials, email training@cpca.org.

Older adults and patients with underlying health conditions are susceptible to severe complications from COVID-19 in addition to the harm caused by isolation during strict social distancing. Community-dwelling older adults may experience limited access to affordable healthcare, nutrition programs, and other local support services which can directly impact their health. Please join CPCA and the National Center for Equitable Care for Elders (NCECE) for a webinar that will provide an overview of elder care and strategies to support older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Marty Lynch, Emeritus Chief Executive Officer from Lifelong Medical Care will share his knowledge and expertise from working at the local and state level on supporting and caring for older patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Learn how social distancing can accentuate loneliness and social isolation to impact the physical and mental health of older adults
Understand the unique health needs of older patients that may increase risk of complications from COVID-19 or a serious non-COVID illness
Learn how to mobilize your staff to effectively support older adult patients during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Arielle Mather, MPH, Program Manager, NCECE
