OVERVIEW
Corporate compliance has become an increasingly important topic for community health centers (CHCs) in recent years. Increased federal funding for CHCs and changes in the health care environment have lead to higher levels of surveillance of CHC compliance. CPCA recommends that every clinic designate a compliance officer. This may be a full-time position in bigger CHCs, or in some cases an additional responsibility for an appropriate person. The compliance officer will not necessarily know about every compliance issue, but will work with other staff to ensure that compliance guidelines are met.

GOALS
The purpose of the COPN is to provide a place where compliance officers can raise questions with their peers and share individual approaches to compliance issues and best practices.
